My name is Daniel Levy and I am a senior at the University of Florida. I'm studying Telecommunications and Film. This is my fourth year living in Gainesville and really enjoy living here. The city of Gainesville and the University of Florida offers many free and cheap events that you can enjoy!

You can also check out The Independent Florida Alligator for listings and local events as well. A lot of the events I review are advertised by the folks at the Alligator.
Just to give you a quick example of the type of events I review and post, yesterday I attended a roller derby scrimmage at the Alachua County Fair Grounds. The scrimmage combined teams from the area including the Gainesville Roller Rebels and the Ocala Cannibals. The event was free and over 100 people came out to watch the Rebels and the Cannibals try to jam their way to a win. For information about the sport of roller derby, click here
